anoninsomnia is a personal, anonymous journal where I express the thoughts insomnia create.
I'm hoping to be an extremely unique, and successful journal.

It would be much appreciated if you were to take a look at my profile, and "friends only" page, where there is a little more information on what I'm doing, and why.

Thank you.

Insomniacs Invade Manas
Air Force News | By Master Sgt. Lisa Polarek | September 16, 2005

MANAS AIR BASE, Kyrgyzstan - They came fired up and ready to entertain the troops, and that is exactly what comedians Dave Attell and Scott Kennedy did here Sept. 14.

The two stand-up comedians have been touring U.S. Central Command hot spots entertaining everyone from Florida Army National Guardsmen at a forward-deployed location to Airmen and Soldiers at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.

No matter where they went, Mr. Attell and Mr. Kennedy said they enjoy the time they spend with the military.

“I love coming down and talking to the guys and ladies, just showing our support,” Mr. Attell said.

The two showed their support to about 800 people here with a show more than an hour long and then stayed afterward to talk and sign autographs. They also did another show the next morning for the nightshift workers.

“It’s weird getting up at six in the morning and seeing guys drinking beer and playing bingo,” Mr. Attell said. “Tip of the hat to the wing commander. It’s cool to have a beer or two after work.”

Staff Sgt. Mark Johnson, a 376th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, said he had seen Mr. Attell’s show on television, and after seeing him in person he thought it was even better.

“(Shows like this) give everyone a chance to get out and have fun,” Sergeant Johnson said.

While Mr. Kennedy has toured the CENTCOM area for a few years, this was a first for Mr. Attell.

Mr. Attell had entertained troops in Germany and said it was a great experience, but his busy schedule had kept him from touring the area with Mr. Kennedy until now.

For Mr. Kennedy, the tours struck a personal chord.

“I don’t consider it a hardship (to tour Southwest Asia),” he said. “I have two nephews who are in the Marine Corps. They’ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan and to me, the hardship is on (the troops).”

While both were pleased with the tour, they were disappointed they were not able to visit more of the forward-deployed locations.

The comedians are returning home but have plans to join a United Services Organization tour soon.

“As long as there are troops there, I’ll go. I don’t care where it is,” Mr. Kennedy said.

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart, Lewis Black, Bill Maher, Dennis Miller, Larry David, Chris Rock, Garry Shandling, and Jerry Seinfeld will all be part of the star-studded inaugural edition of The Comedy Festival, set to take place November 17-19 in Las Vegas.

In announcing most details of the program lineup on Tuesday, organizers HBO and AEG Live said Seinfeld will be honored with the first annual The Comedian award in a special tribute moderated by CNN's Anderson Cooper.

The consumer-focused festival, which will complement HBO's annual U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo., will take over nine performance venues at Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas.

Chappelle will return to the spotlight by closing out The Comedy Festival Saturday, according to the organizers. In May, Comedy Central had said the star had stopped work on the third season of "Chappelle's Show," which had been scheduled to begin May 31. It is still unknown if and when the show may return.

Meanwhile, Lewis Black and Dave Attell will co-headline their own show at the Palace.

Stewart will perform in a rare West Coast stand-up appearance, while Comedy Central-star Carlos Mencia will perform with special guest Pablo Francisco. Dane Cook and George Lopez will have their own shows, while Miller will tape a new hour-long HBO special in Vegas.

Maher will host a late-night "For Adults Only" show with Gilbert Gottfried and
Sarah Silverman confirmed as guests.

In addition, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will host a late-night variety show, and Susie Essman will host a "Women with Attitude" showcase with the lineup to be determined.

so... anyone going? i'm trying to get there. i'm just waiting for the paycheck to get the tickets!!

Hey guys, I was reading my wonderful Google alerts this morning... The Arrested Development eppy with Dave is on tonight ~ check listings for your area. Plus there's an eppy of Minding the Store ~ you know that weird Pauly Shore show ~ again check listings, but here's what it says...

Dave Attell advises Pauly to "train" as a knight before auditioning for the part of one in a film. Meanwhile, the gang thinks the Store is haunted and hires a medium.

Hi, I'm new: [09 Jun 2005|06:31pm]

I just joined. I didn't know this community was here. I am already a member of the other Dave Attel community, and I posted this there earlier:

I got my ticket for the Warfield in San Francisco on the 11th. Who else is going to be there? Would anyone want to meet up before, during or after for drinks/coffee? (Since I don't drink, I would vote for coffee.)

I got a seat way back in the second balcony--at least it is right in the front of the second balcony.
This is my birthday present to myself--yay! Or as Dave says, "Ta-DA!"

"Aaawww--you shoulda hung out, man! Even the fat guy with the Babylon 5 t-shirt--he got a little!"

I am trying to see if others are out in San Francisco and are going on Saturday.

Like to stay up late? Join Arizona Insomniacs! :) [13 Nov 2003|03:55am]

[ mood | accomplished ]

We're a new and growing community of people who live in Arizona, who are basicallly night people (either on purpose or not). Arizona is nearly the perfect place to be nocturnal, because sometimes it can be so hot during the day, that the only time to exist is during the evening.

  • Are you a night person?

  • Do you enjoy going out and doing things at 3 in the morning?

  • Do you wish you could find other people in Arizona who may have some insomniac tendencies?
We would be honored if you would join us!

For those who may stay up late at night

[**sorry for the massive cross posting**]

Dave DVD [27 Oct 2003|06:52pm]

I got my Insomniac Volume 2 DVD the other day. All fans of the show (and Dave) must have it. I especially liked the audio commentaries. It was like sitting next to Dave, watching the episodes and having him tell you what's going on at the same time. There's some deleted scenes, one of which is Dave with a bunch of his comedian buddies in NYC, ripping on each other, it's great. And of course 10 episodes, uncensored.
